Mick® Shielded HDR-IORT Applicator

This Applicator System is Suitable for HDR-IORT (i.e. Breast)
(High-Dose-Rate Intra-Operative Radiation Therapy)

Features:
• Applicator is similar in design as the H.A.M. IORT Applicator   (Harrison, Anderson, Mick)

• Available in broad range of sizes; 2-10 Channels.

• Adjustable Tungsten Shields provided in sizes 2-10.

• Sizing Templates are provided with the system for proper    applicator  selection; 2-10.

• Compatible with all of today’s Remote Afterloading Systems.    GammaMed® / VariSource® / MicroSelectron®)
Clinical advantages:
• Treatment is performed at the time of surgery, when  the target  area    (tumor bed) is exposed and the applicator can be placed directly over    the target.

• Organs at risk may be retracted and shielded as necessary.

• This technique is free of any accessibility limitations: the applicator    can be used in virtually any anatomic locations.

• The flexible applicator used for HDR-IORT easily conforms to the    target area ensuring dose delivery throughout the target volume.

 
Sizing Templates are designed to provide the surgical team with a practical and inexpensive way to designate the appropriate size of IORT Applicator at the time of surgery. This feature allows for sterile HDR IORT applicators to remain untouched and intact in their respective presterilized condition.
